Initially proven in military settings, this practice is now revolutionizing civilian emergency care, showing significant reductions in hospital stays for trauma patients.

By administering whole blood directly in the field, responders swiftly address blood loss, leading to stabilized patients upon hospital arrival. This proactive approach minimizes the need for further interventions, resulting in shorter hospital stays and improved outcomes.

They are responding to this currently by ensuring two units of blood are available for patients, but hoping to increase to four in the future.
